So, um, yeah. That whole return from hiatus didn't really happen, did it?

I'm really sorry about the lack of promised updates, and the general lack of information as the what the hell has been going on lately.

Basically, I had managed to line up a new artist for A Game of Fools. Unfortunately, a few events came up in her life that prevented her from completing the first new pages in the timeframe we had decided on. We went on a hiatus as a result, basically to allow for some time to get them done at a less intense schedule, but even with that she just wasn't able to find the time to work on it (no fault on her part or anything, just one of those things that can't be helped).

As a result, A Game of Fools is going on an indefinite hiatus of sorts. Yes, it's a cop-out, I know.

When will it return? Well, I really don't know. I'm overseas at the moment, so the earliest I'd be able to start work on anything new would be late January, and I suspect that any sort of new material would still be sometime after that. I honestly don't have any real idea when it will come back from hiatus, although I hope it's sooner rather than later.

In the end, I just need some time to take a break from A Game of Fools and really think about and assess where I'm going with it. On top of this, I'm still in need of an artist, and would much rather have someone besides me taking on the drawing duties - even with the improvements I feel I've made as an artist over the last year and a bit, it's just not at the level visually I think it should be, and just getting it to this meagre degree of quality takes an immense amount of time for me (on that note, if anyone does happen to be interested in drawing A Game of Fools, please contact me).

So, I guess this is it for now. Thanks to everyone who has stuck with A Game of Fools over the last two years, especially the people who stayed with it even during some pretty trying periods both recently and in the first year when updates were very sparse. I'll probably still end up using this website to put other things up, so still check it out every so often. And hopefully when it does return, A Game of Fools will be better than ever.

UPDATE (25/03/11): So, we're nearing the end of March and still nothing. Nor anything else up on the website, as I had said could likely happen (I always was bad at estimating how much I would be able to devote my time to). I still do really want A Game of Fools to return - it doesn't feel right at all to just end things right in the middle like this, with nothing resembling a resolution, and I've still got heaps of future stuff written that I'd hate to see go to waste.

Unfortunately, quite a few other things are just taking up my time right now. I'm (very slowly) making some progress on some some new stuff, and trying to work out some way of drawing each page at a schedule that doesn't result in me being sent to the nuthouse, whilst still maintaining some level of professionalism and artistic quality (be warned, this will almost certainly involve pretty liberal use of my good friends Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V). I still really can't give any sort of idea of when I will start updating again, I'm afraid, but I'll try give some semi-regular updates on my progress (and try very much is the key word there).
